Elephant Lake

 Many of us knew Roger Rivard. He may have done some construction work for you - he built our home here on Elephant Lake - and / or you bought some of his Maple Syrup. The best. Sadly Roger passed away last month after battling cancer.  For your info, his Celebration of Life will be on June 27th at the Faraday Community Centre, 31 Lower Faraday Rd, Bancroft Ontario. (the hall is at the back of the fire station). 2:00pm.

 I thought you might enjoy some of these pictures that I took of last evening's sky. 

 The road is in good shape. The heavy winter snow seemed to have insulated the ground so we did not experience the same "mud" problems as in past years. Here are some pictures of conditions now: Blackflies are now appearing. Flying but not biting yet. Expect they will very soon. Bring your bug spray...

 Road Update April 26 The road is in great shape! Mostly dry with a few soft spots. Trucks and 4 wheel drive have been coming and going.

 The snow is quickly retreating but the road still has some drying out to do before it's ready for summer cottage traffic. The latter part of the week is forecasting dry and warmer weather.

 April 20, 2026  A little ice in the bay but the lake is wide open this evening.
